How do I know Faraday bags work: Finished Product Testing, Not Just Material Claims

Disklabs’ testing approach is based on finished product assessment, not simply straight-line attenuation testing of shielding material.

This is an important distinction.

Some suppliers rely on attenuation figures taken from material samples or idealised test conditions. While useful, those tests do not always reflect how a complete Faraday bag performs in real-world use, where seams, closures, stitching, folds, gaskets and day-to-day handling all affect overall performance.

Disklabs tests the finished product as it is supplied to the customer.

What tests have you carried out

RF Shielding Effectiveness test have been undertaken by AQL EMC Ltd who are a UKAS accredited testing laboratory No 0018. AQL are widely acknowledged as specialists in the domain of EMC testing and have completed multiple RF Attenuation projects, both qualification testing and in support of research projects for numerous government departments, MOD and global corporations.

AQL tests were performed on Disklabs faraday bags as finished articles as against tests that have been performed on faraday material only. This method of testing on completed faraday bags provided a “real world” performance indication of RF Shielding Effectiveness.
